Mrs. Martha Lindsay of Camrose, passed away on Saturday December 27, 2014 at the age of 90 years. Martha Alice was born in Calgary June 15, 1924 to Hazel and Ezra Clark. She was raised in Yankee Valley and attended school in Balzac, Alberta. She taught school in Katherine and surrounding small towns before moving to Camrose to continue her teaching career. Martha met and married William Lindsay on April 9, 1954 and later moved to Mile 4 before buying the Wold farm where they Dairy farmed until retirement to Camrose in 1991. Martha was actively involved in many organizations including the UCW, WI, and Ladies of the Moose, to name a few. Judging 4H public speaking for many years led her to joining toastmasters. She leaves to mourn four children Clark (Karen), Martha Anne Lindsay (Sandy Duncan), Robert (Sherri), and Kevin (Carol); ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers Lloyd, Wayne, and Clifford, and one sister Willene. Martha was predeceased by her husband William R. Lindsay; and brothers Jack and Don Clark. A funeral service was held on Saturday January 3, 2015 at 1:00 pm from the Camrose United Church, with Rev. Alan Richards officiating. Interment has taken place in the Skafse Cemetery. Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Alberta Cancer Society, or to the Skafse Cemetery.
