Obituary of John Green

John Green, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away in the Camrose hospital, February 7th, 2015 at the age of 78 years. John was born in Daysland on October 25th, 1936 to Lincoln, and Katherine Green. He met Bernice and they were married June 20th, 1964. They had two children, Kimberly and Darren. John worked for many years with the County of Flagstaff as a dozer operator, and retired in 2005. John enjoyed visits with his family, and going for coffee with his friends. John is survived by his children Kimberly (Perry) Ambrose of Spruce Grove and Darren (Kim Belland) of Daysland; grandchildren Jaden, Madison, Liam; Colette Green; sister Mary (Norman) Jacobsen of Camrose; brother Tom Green of White Rock, B.C. ; sisters in-law Josie (Jim) Komarnisky and Eleanor Kontek; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his wife Bernice; sister Marion Sjolie; brother in-law Louie Kontek; and sisters in-law June Green and Alice Kontek A Funeral Mass was celebrated Friday February 13, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church in Camrose with Rev. Larry Pederson as celebrant. Inurnment will take place at Daysland Cemetery at a later date. If family and friends so desire memorial contributions can be made in lieu of flowers to the Daysland Legion Cemetery Fund.
