Obituary of Esther Wolbeck

Esther, loving mom, grandma, great-grandma, and great great grandma passed away peacefully on Friday, February 20th at the Galahad Health Care Centre at the age of 98 years. On October 20, 1916, Esther was born to Casper and Ann Steil. In 1935 Esther married Andrew Wolbeck, and they farmed in the Heisler area until they retired to Heisler in 1973. Esther lived at Providence Place in Daysland for seven years, and then moved to Galahad in July of 2014 until the time of her passing. She enjoyed playing Bingo and cards with her friends and family. Her grandchildren were the love of her life. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her children Mary Ann (Elldon) Niehaus, Shirley Heisler, Calvin (Maryanne), Derald (Mariann), Dennis (Dixie) of Heisler Wolbeck, and Betty Leroux; 23 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. Esther was predeceased by her husband Andrew in 1993; and her sons-in-law Ronnie Heisler and Vic Leroux; and her two sisters Vera Badry and Ella Dalueg. A Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 27, 2015 from St. Martin's Roman Catholic Church Heisler, Alberta with Rev. Leon Kler as celebrant. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Heisler Cemetery. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Galahad Health Care Centre, Providence Place, or to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
