Loretta Ann Mitchell was born in Hamilton, Ontario on August 5, 1956 to Ann and Gerald Paltridge. Loretta grew up and attended school in Hamilton, Ontario where she met Bill and they married on February 11, 1978. To this union, Loretta's pride and joy, her beautiful daughter Nadine was born. Loretta started her bakery career with Camrose City Bakery then onto the Bakery Department at Camrose Safeway where she remained for 22 years retiring in 2010. Retirement allowed Loretta time to enjoy the things she loved to do the most like working in her yard, walking her dog "Keagan", knitting, doing stained glass, camping, fishing, 4x4'ing in the Jeep and watching her favorite team the Hamilton Tiger Cats. During retirement Bill and Loretta were able to travel extensively which included a trip to Scotland, Jamaica, many Shelby Mustang "Pony" tours, trips to Vegas, driving across Canada in their motor home and 4x4ing in Moab, Utah. Loretta especially loved spending time with her grandchildren who were the love of her life and her face would glow just at the mention of their names. Loretta was a loving wife, mother and "awesome" grandma and loyal friend who lived her life to the fullest and always with dignity and class. In September 2014 Loretta was diagnosed with cancer and passed away on March 31, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital. Loretta was predeceased by her brother Chris Paltridge; mother-in-law Rachel Racz; father-in-law Steven Racz; and stepfather Orville Olstad. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 2:00pm., from The Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bill Harder officiating. If friends so desire memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to St. Mary's Hospital Palliative Care, or to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
