Bessie Leola Hertzke of Forestburg, Alberta passed away on April 22, 2015 at the age of 93 years. Bessie was born in Canora, Saskatchewan; married a farmer/trapper and lived in Swan Plain, Saskatchewan until 1968. She then ventured out on her own with her son Ben and came to Alberta where she lived until her passing. Bessie worked in Motels here in Alberta and then worked at McCoy Bros. in Edmonton until she retired. Bessie loved music, dancing, playing cards, floor curling, gardening. But most of all, she loved driving all over Alberta, Saskatchewan and B.C. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Leona (John) Perra of Dapp, Alberta; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Bessie was predeceased by her husband Louis; her son Ben; three sisters; and three brothers. A Funeral Service was held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2015 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Eriksson officiating. Interment has taken place in the Forestburg Cemetery. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the charity of one's choice.
