Obituary of Mal Brown
Please share a memory of Mal to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Malford Brown passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at home surrounded by friends and family, at the age of 72 years.
Mal was born in Amber Valley, Alberta on November 8, 1942 to Noel and Tedora Brown.
With the passing of his mother, Mal was raised by his Uncle Peter Melton and spent his early years in both Calgary and Amber Valley. He was educated in Calgary at the Crescents Heights High School and trained at SAIT in sheetmetal mechanics and gas fitting.
During his early years he was active in music and sports, especially football, where he attended training camp for the Calgary Stampeders. In 1968 Mal married Myrna Johnson and was blessed with two children, Glen and Rene.
The family moved to Sundre in 1975 where they owned and operated Larmal Sheetmetal.
Mal loved the town of Sundre and the surrounding community and was very active in Sundre sports and was a dedicated longtime member of the Sundre Fire Department.
Mal relocated to Camrose in 2009 to be closer to family and for health reasons as he battled the affects of severe diabetes. The late Mal Brown will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife Myrna, son Glen (Dawn), daughter Rene, son-in-law Jim Bergstrom, and grandchildren Kolton and Mya.
A Funeral Service was held on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 2pm., from The Sundre Royal Canadian Legion.
If friends so desire memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to The Kidney Foundation, CNIB, or to The Diabetes Association.
