Mr. Bruce C. Stadnik of Tofield, passed away on Monday May 4, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital in Camrose, Alberta at the age of 68 years.
Bruce Stadnik was born in Edmonton, Alberta on January 26, 1947. He lived on a farm by Ross Creek until he was seven. For his first year of schooling he was picked up by the neighbour and they travelled to school by horse. His family then moved to Mundare where he completed the rest of his education. Although his family lived in town, Bruce was born a farmer, it is where his heart was.
Bruce met his future wife Leona in 1964 in Edmonton at an A&W where she was a carhop. Bruce and Leona married in 1969 in Ross Creek and lived in Mundare until they purchased their farm on Beaverhill Lake near Tofield in November 1970. Their three children were born there amongst cattle, horses, pigs, chickens, rabbits, dogs and uncountable cats. They lived a very full farming life. Although Bruce and Leona left the farm and moved to Kelowna due to his farm accident, Bruce's heart was in farming. They returned to Alberta in 1994 and purchased their second farm north of Tofield. It is where they currently reside.
Bruce got sick in March 2015. After surviving his initial injury he overcame several infections however he was unable to overcome his last battle and passed away May 4, 2015 in St. Mary's Hospital in Camrose. His thoughts, even to the end, were on the welfare of his family, he fought so very hard.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Leona; his children Tracy (Paul), Brent (Denai), Curtis, and his honorary son Trevor Norton; his grandchildren Bailea (Jake), Kaylee, Jayden, Madison, Evan, Colby, Paige, Chlöe, and Ainsley; and his two great-grandchildren Carter and Ashtyn. Bruce's family was everything to him, he will be so greatly missed.
