Melvin Arnold Mittelstadt of Camrose passed away Wednesday, July 1st, 2015 at the age of 73 years.
Melvin was born to parents Daniel and Hilda in the original Camrose hospital and grew up at the Star Mine were his father worked.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Ida; his lab pup Tippy; mother in-law Annie Taylor; and nieces and nephews Daniel Gibb, Bob Gibb and his son Jarvis, Dee (Joey) Busetto and their children Tina (Joel) with daughter Zoey, Johanna (Eric), and Joseph.
Melvin was predeceased by his bothers Gerald and Donald; sister Audrey; sister-in-law Gloria Ann; and Jake, Nugget, and Luke.
Mel enjoyed years of participation with the lottery group 'McDonalds 49'ers'. He also loved to travel, fish, bird hunt with his dog Nugget, and in later years gold pan. Mel will be missed by numerous friends and acquaintances.
A funeral service was held Friday, July 10, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. from the Salvation Army Hall in Wetaskiwin with Major Terry Cook officiating.
If friends and family so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to Wetaskiwin Salvation Army or The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
