Mr. Elmer Hartman of Camrose passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015 at the age of 86 years.
Elmer Lloyd Hartman was born on June 10, 1929 in St. Albert, Alberta to Lloyd and Elma Hartman. The family lived near Evansberg, Alberta. As a young teenager, the family lost their father and husband in a horse and trailer accident. Elmer then moved to Rochfort Bridge where he worked building Grain Elevators. He always had many stories to tell about these years.
In 1956, he married Hilda Meiers and together they had three children. The young family mostly lived in Camrose, Alberta.
Elmer worked as a carpenter most of his life. His skill was second to none. After he retired, he was in high demand and did many favors and spent a lot of time with his children and grandchildren doing projects. His patience and kindness will always be remembered and treasured.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Hilda; three children Leo Hartman of Montreal, Eileen (Marvin Poyser) Hartman of Sedgewick, Larry Hartman of Edmonton; his five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Elmer is also survived by his two brothers Warren and Charles, and one sister Vera. He was predeceased by his parents; three sisters Violet, Laura, and Phyllis; and two brothers Douglas and Lloyd.
Funeral Services were held on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 1:00pm., from The Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dave Hejse officiating. Inurnment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery.
