If one is fortunate in life, an individual will be able to develop a friendship that stands the test of time and distance. In Mark's case, he was such an individual many times over as all of us can attest to since Mark's passing. My deepest condolences to the Chytracek family for the loss of your patriarch. I can only imagine how difficult this time is for you but I pray that God gives you strength and courage. Mark was an amazing man who touched countless lives. He was always a smiling face when walking through the horseshoe or the forum, no matter what time of day. Always supporting our basketball team with well wishes and encouragement. His hugs were infectious and always made you feel cared for. I came to Mark with the merger of the Augustana and UA campuses and worked directly with him on a number of initiatives. His caring of the best for Augustana campus and students was infectious. I was so saddened to hear of Mark's passing. I met Mark and Brandi when they first came to Camrose Lutheran College, back in the 80's. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and they were so hospitable and loving. I will always have fond memories of my year as a Resident Assistant, and remember Mark with his laughter and love for life.
