Obituary of Jeffrey McDevitt
Please share a memory of Jeffrey to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that the family of Jeffrey Allen McDevitt announces his sudden passing on October 25, 2015 at the age of 34. Jeffrey was the eldest of three children born to Richard and Leslie McDevitt and grew up in the Hughenden area.
After graduating from high school, Jeffrey moved to Camrose to pursue his education in Computer Science. In the fall of 2004, Jeffrey met Amanda Thompson, and from that day forward the two were seldom apart. Ten months later, Jeffrey and Amanda were married and continued to make their home in Camrose. They were blessed with the birth of their first child, Shaylee Noelle, on July 24, 2007. She was followed by Alayna Sloane on January 1, 2009 and Payton Shila on December 3, 2009. Jeffrey was an amazing and involved father, taking the girls to sports activities and family events.
Jeffrey was very active in the community. He played slo-pitch on the Havoc team and hockey with the Ducks and the Writeoffs. Jeffrey was able to realize his life-long dream of owning his own business when he and Amanda, in partnership with his parents, Richard and Leslie, purchased Windwood Signs and Locks. Jeffrey was known as a good and fair boss who provided a positive work environment.
Jeffrey will be lovingly remembered by his wife Amanda; his three children Shaylee, Alayna and Payton; his parents, Richard and Leslie; his brother Mark (Chenelle); his sister, Jennifer, and many other family members.
A Funeral Service was held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 2, 2015 from the Camrose United Church with Rev. Liz Carter-Morgan officiating. Interment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery.
If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to The Jeffrey McDevitt Memorial Fund c/o The Bank of Nova Scotia, Camrose
