Obituary of Charitey Janzen
Please share a memory of Charitey to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Charitey Dawn Janzen of Edmonton, Alberta passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the age of 34 years.
Charitey Dawn Janzen was born on September 11th, 1981 in Lacombe, AB. Her early childhood years were spent in Saskatchewan, mainly in and around Saskatoon. There were many highlights to these years, but the one that stands out the greatest was when Greg and Cheryl were expecting Colin, and Charitey was badly wanting a baby sister. She declared that she would "not love a baby brother', but when Colin came home she warmed up quickly, proclaiming within 24 hours, "Mom, I love my baby brother!" She showed this repeatedly by how she favored and spoiled him.
She proved to be a very bright, and gifted student in her school years in Pentiction, BC. She even earned honors in her high school years. During her years in Pentiction, she really enjoyed spending time out on the lake, in the family boat with her brothers, Brad, Colin and Keith.
At age 13 she went off to live with her father in Nanimo, BC, for a short period of time, followed by many years of independent living, and eventually, after the family had relocated to Camrose, AB, she moved to Edmonton to be closer to her family. While living in Edmonton she gave birth, with her partner Steven to two beautiful boys, Nathan and Christopher. A few years later along came a gorgeous baby girl, Trinity, with London. Her children were her biggest pride and joy in her life. She remained close with Steven and London, her children's daddies until the very end.
In the last five years of her life, as Joe came into her mother Cheryl's life, and become her step-father, she would often comment to her mom how much she appreciated him, as he would do all he could to keep her on a healthy path, and be very straight forward with her, in a loving way.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Nathan (8), Christopher (7) and Trinity (5), as well as their dad's, Steven Kjorlien and London Baker; her mother and step-father, Cheryl and Joe St. Pierre of Camrose; her step-father Greg (Shauna) Chrabaszcz of Camrose; her brothers, Brad (Lori) of Edmonton, Keith (Kate) of Camrose and Colin (Amanda) of High Prairie, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her grandparents, Arthur and Lynda Toews and Stan and Flo Chrabasz. She was predeceased by her nephew, Matthew Janzen and her grandparents, Ken and Eva Leonard.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the Burgar Funeral Home Chapel in Camrose. Lunch followed at Century Meadows Baptist Church at 3720-66 Street.
