Obituary of Irene Jones
Please share a memory of Irene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Irene Ann Jones was born October 6, 1935 in Camrose, Alberta to John and Julia Klug. She was the youngest of three children, having two older brothers. She passed away peacefully, at the age of 80, with her family at her side in St. Mary's Hospital.
Irene met and married Gordon "Shorty" Case and spent many happy years together until his sudden passing in February of 1973. During their years together they moved numerous times to accommodate Shorty's job.
After Shorty's passing, she moved to Surrey for a couple of years, until returning and marrying Edward "Sam" Jones July 18, 1975. They had a very long and fulfilling life together, living in Wainwright and finally in Camrose. Together they travelled, went camping, visited the casinos and spent time with family and friends.
Irene enjoyed curling in the early years and later watching with great enthusiasm. She loved collecting cookbooks and reviewing them to find the next best recipe to make. While camping, mushroom picking was a must and with older brother Henry along, well you never knew what to expect when cleaning. She loved to crochet, garden and was a great cook. Her specialty was German Potato Salad which was passed down from her Mother, Julia.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Edward "Sam"; brother John Klug of Camrose; nieces Diane Klug of Camrose, Shelley Moch of Camrose, and Linda Feindel of Edmonton; and sister-in-law Josephine Kuefler of Redwater; as well as numerous cousins and extended family. Irene was predeceased by her first husband Gordon, parents John and Julia, brother Henry, four brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law.
