Raymond Cecil Daley of Mirror, Alberta passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the age of 75 years. Ray was a member of the Canadian Army from September of 1961 to November of 1966 when he was given an honorable discharge. Ray Served in Calgary, Victoria, and Germany. After his discharge from the army, Ray was a partner in Pacific 66 in Calgary until 1968 when he joined the City of Calgary as a mechanic and went on to achieve his Heavy Duty Mechanic Certificate. In 2000, Ray completed his grade 12 education. In 2008, Ray moved his family to Mirror where he filled his time as a faithful member at the United Church and grateful member of the Mirror Legion. He also enjoyed belonging to the Senior Center, fishing with his son Shawn, and volunteering at the Special Olympics in Calgary and Lacombe. Ray lived each day to the fullest, enjoying his many friends and family until succumbing to cancer in the Stettler Hospital. Raymond is survived by his wife Marion; sons, Trevor and Shawn; daughter Kathleen; grandchildren, Shay Daley, Richard and Robert Piroulx; brother Grant (Olga) Daley; and sister Patricia (Bill) Campbell. He was predeceased by his son Michael; brothers Clifford and Edward; and parents Charles and Elizabeth. A funeral service was held Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No 189 (5015 50 Ave, Mirror, AB). Inurnment has taken place at the Rosenroll Cemetery in Bittern Lake. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the charity of one's choice.
