Kathleen and family - It is so difficult to adequately express our condolences to you. We sincerely share your sorrow at this time, knowing how difficult it is to part with someone you all love so very much. Tom was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and he leaves a legacy of love with each of you. However, our Heavenly Father knew what was best for Tom when he spared him further pain or discomfort as He welcomed him home. Tom travelled such a memorable, devoted journey which only emphasizes how he served his Master in such a dedicated manner. Our sincere sympathy to all of you as we celebrate Tom's life tomorrow. Our love, Irene, Holly, Jon, Chris and MacKenzie Our sincere sympathy to all of you as we celebrate Tom's life tomorrow. Love Irene and family

Condolences to Kathleen and the family on the loss of Tom. As a church musician, I remember Tom's strong voice leading many hymns and his stirring (memorized!)sermons. When my daughter Janelle was young, she asked Tom, "If God knows everything, what does he think about?" Tom smiled and said, "He thinks about YOU."

My prayers and thoughts go out to you as you say goodbye to your husband, Dad, grandad. Rev Gilchrist was part of my favourite memories of church youth in Medicine Hat. I have never forgotten 'fisherman's breakfasts' or his enthusiasm and leadership for South Alberta Youth Rallies.
