Obituary of Edward Borgel

Edward Michael Borgel of Galahad passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at the age of 63 years. Ed was born on August 17, 1952 in Galahad, Alberta to Norbert and Doreen Borgel. Ed worked in the Galahad area for several years in the Oil and Gas industry. For the past 18 years he has been traveling up North with his job. In 1999, Ed married Cindy Curtis of Vegreville, Alberta. In the last several years, Ed developed a passion for traveling which Cindy shared with him and they visited countries that he always wanted to see. Ed also loved to play golf and ride his motor cycle. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Cindy; children Curtis (Samantha Furet), Derek, and Elizabeth Borgel; his mother and step-father Doreen and Edwin Kuefler; brothers Greg Borgel (Vickie Gray), Dave (Debbie) Borgel; sister Terry Blumhagen; niece Crystal (Mark) Rasmussen and children Ashton, Jordyn, and Harlee; nephew Travis (Lindsay) Blumhagen and children Kayden and Brieana; nephew Joshua Borgel; mother and father-in-law Myrna and Buster Curtis; brother and sister-in-law Tim and Darlene Curtis. Ed was predeceased by his father Norbert, and sister-in-law Michelle Borgel. A gathering and time of fellowship was held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from the Galahad Agriplex. Inurnment will take place in the Galahad Cemetery at a later date. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Galahad Cemetery Fund, or to STARS Air Ambulance.
