Esther Ellen Sims of Camrose passed away on Friday, February 12, 2016 at the age of 93 years.
Esther Ellen Sims was born to Peter and Hilda Magnuson on February 3, 1923 on the Edberg Farm. Ellen had one brother and seven sisters.
Ellen grew up in the Edberg area. She house cleaned for other families. She also worked in Edmonton at a meat processing plant.
Ellen married Wilmer Sims on October 20, 1950. Ellen loved to dance, play the piano, garden, and entertain her family. Family was everything to Ellen and she loved her children dearly.
Ellen leaves to mourn her passing her three children Eldon (Debbie), Sandra (Phil), and Dale (Val); her grandchildren Trevor (Heather), Travis (Tanya), Tim, Glenda (Lukas), Tracy (Eric), Shawn (Leigh Anne), Jonathan, Lindsay (Jaimie), and Stephanie; her great-grandchildren Zach, Zoe, Amanda, Ariel, Jakob, Issak, Jens, Kai, Mats, Madelyn, and Coen; and great-great-grandchild Hartley.
Ellen was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Wilmer; brother Gilbert; and sisters Ann, Alice, Joan, Jean, and Madeline.
Grandma was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.
A Funeral Service was held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 19, 2016 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brian Hunter officiating.
If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Alberta Lung Association.
A Memorial Tree was planted for Esther
