Irene Beatrice Moench passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, February 26, 2016 at the age of 92 years.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Albert; brothers, Alvin, Edgar and Lloyd; and sisters, Doris and Verna.
She is survived by her children, Peter, Dawn Marie, James (Kathy), Sheila (Wes) and David (Katherine); grandchildren, Karleton, Eithan and Elisha; siblings, Elmer, Wilma "Billie", Elsie, Norma and Lorne; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Irene will be remembered by many for her love of God and family, knitting, and the Toronto Blue Jays. Her family wishes to thank Dr. Slabbert for his care over many years, the staff of Faith House, and the staff at St. Mary's Hospital where Mom spent her last few weeks.
A funeral service was held on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 3:00 pm from Messiah Lutheran Church with Bev Swanson and Rev. David Eriksson officiating.
If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to Messiah Lutheran Church or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
