Obituary of Robert Garnett

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robert Donald Garnett passed away suddenly on March 9, 2016, at the age of 53 years old. Robert was born June 16, 1962 in Calgary, Alberta to Donald and Marge Garnett. He grew up with two older sisters and a "little" brother. He moved to Camrose when he was 10 years old and later graduated from Camrose Composite High School, after which he met the love of his life, Rosalie. They were married May 5, 1984 and had two children, Lisa and Scott. He worked at Evraz and retired after 30 years of service in 2011. He then became a "man of leisure" and obtained a part-time job at Acklands-Grainger. This allowed him more time to focus on his true passions which included, first and foremost, his family. He also enjoyed automotives (his Camaro), spending time at the rink, coffee time with the boys, and being on call for whatever anyone might need. Robert was predeceased by his father, Donald. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rosalie; children, Lisa (Scott) Harvey and Scott (Lisa) Garnett; grandsons Owen and Luke; siblings Susan Garnett, Cathy (Dean) Brown and Brian (Michelle) Garnett; mother Marge; father and mother-in-law, Ken and Doreen Wancho; sister-in-law Audrey (Dale) Myers; brother-in-law Mike (Janet) Wancho; and many nieces, nephews and friends. A Funeral Service was held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 17, 2016 from the Norsemen Inn. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Canadian Diabetes Association, or to the Camrose Minor Hockey Association.
