Obituary of George Stucka
Please share a memory of George to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
George was born February 17, 1943 in Coronation, Alberta to parents, Peter and Iona Stucka. He was the eldest of three children, with his two sisters, Linda and Janet.
His younger years consisted of family and hard work. He spent a lot of time with his cousins, Wayne and Brian, and they came to be known as the three musketeers.
His first job was working with his Dad at CP Rail. Here is where he learned his hard work ethic. After leaving CP Rail, he went to work for Builder Hardware and was transferred from Coronation to Dawson Creek when the Hudson Hope Dam opened. Here is where his first daughter Tina Louise was born.
Upon completion of the Dam, George moved to Edmonton where he met his wife to be, Judy Strilchuk. They were married March 18, 1972. They had two wonderful children, a son Zenon Peter and a daughter Brande Tamara. George's family continued to expand with grandson Tyler Morgan and granddaughter Madison Hope. George cherished both family and friends and held them very dear. On March 9, 2016, George passed away from complications due to a stroke. He will be missed by all.
Left to cherish memory are his wife Judy; children Zenon (Renee) of Edmonton, Brande Stucka (Jerry Sohm) of Stony Plain, and Tina Stucka of Kelowna; two grandchildren Tyler and Madison; and sisters Linda (Ken) Churchill of Sherwood Park, and Janet Stucka of Lloydminster.
George was predeceased by his mother and father Iona and Peter Stucka.
A Funeral Service was held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 19, 2016 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brian Hunter officiating.
If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
