Mary passed away in the intensive care unit at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta on March 19th, 2016. She was born to a large family of sixteen children, near Round Hill on September 10th, 1937. Mary was eventually taught by Eric Hohn during the days of the "Normal School". They knew each other for years and married on August 12th, 1961. To this union, their son Frank was born on January 5th, 1962. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Mary, from Poland and Austria respectively; her husband Eric; her siblings; Stanley, Ed, Joey, Rudy, Nellie, Olga, and Bernice. Left to cherish her memory are her son Frank (Holly Dunlop) of Saskatoon; two grandchildren Ryan and Anna; and siblings Adolf, Vernon, Louie, Irene, Betty, Rose, and Stella. Mary was supportive and stubborn. She loved watching baseball, gardening, and felt that curling was essential to her well being. The first words out of her mouth after her second last intubation in the ICU was..."What channel is the Brier on?" When asked "How's the weather down there in Arizona?" mom replied, "It's so hot we had to turn on the air conditioning to watch the Brier!" A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016 from the CityLights Church in Camrose with Pastor David Eriksson officiating. Inurnment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery. If family or friends so desire, memorial contributions can be made to the St. Mary's Hospital, Camrose Foundation.
