Obituary of Allan "Butch" Germanick
Please share a memory of Allan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Allan "Butch" Germanick beloved son, brother, uncle, and great-uncle passed away peacefully on April 19, 2016 at the Louise Jensen Care Centre at the age of 53 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Butch was born May 25, 1962 in Camrose, Alberta to Andrew and Marion Germanick and lived his whole life on the family farm near Ferintosh, Alberta.
Butch loved the farm and loved working with animals, especially cattle. Anyone who called and needed help with their cows, Butch was always willing to go help.
As a pastime, he enjoyed putting puzzles together and enjoyed playing cards. I'm sure he knew every card game there was, with crib being his favourite. He also loved eagles from eagle puzzles to eagle statues. We had eagles everywhere, and now he is soaring with the Eagles.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother Marion; sister Janice (Ted) Shingleton; two special nieces Amber and Shelby Shingleton; and two great-nieces Brooklynn and Harper whom he loved dearly and bragged to everyone about. He also leaves to mourn numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.
Special thanks to Auntie Ellen and Uncle Jimmy who spent countless hours with Butch when he was sick, and to Wilbur Bartman for his daily visits to see Butch.
He was predeceased by his dad Andrew and grandparents William and Hazel Germanick and William and Jemima Kerr, uncle Kenny, and aunt Joyce Costar.
A funeral service was held on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 1 pm from the Burgar Memorial Chapel in Camrose with Rev. Ken Grambo officiating. Inurnment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Camrose Cancer Clinic, c/o St. Mary's Hospital.
