Mrs. Florence "Flo" Taylor of Camrose, formerly of Montreal, Quebec, passed away quietly after a debilitating illness at the age of 93 years. Florence Eileen Taylor was born to parents Fred and Annie Wentzel on March 25, 1923 in Montreal, Quebec. She attended school at St. Paul School in Montreal and later attended secretarial school. She worked for Canadian Fairbanks Morse where she met James. They were married on October 3, 1953. Son Ronald was born on April 19, 1957 and their daughter Patricia was born on September 15, 1959. Flo enjoyed crafts and teaching ceramics, traveling, cruising, and camping. She had a great love of pets, particularly of dogs and cats. Flo also loved flowers and gardening. She loved helping people and was a Lions member for 34 years. Flo also served on Altar Guilds, was a school librarian volunteer and was involved in her children's activities. Flo is survived by her husband James Taylor of Camrose; son Ronald Taylor of Camrose; daughter Patricia (Ronald) McCool of Mayerthorpe; and nephew Brian Wentzel. Flo was predeceased by her parents Annie and Fred; brother Douglas; sister-in-law Margaret; and nephew Douglas. A funeral service was held on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 2:00 pm from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brian Hunter officiating. Inurnment has taken place at the Glenwood Memorial Gardens in Sherwood Park, Alberta. Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Lions Foundation of Canada, Re: Dog Guides, 152 Wilson Street, Oakville, Ontario, L6K 0G6, or to the charity of one's choice.
