Obituary of Laurel Fowler
Please share a memory of Laurel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Laurel Gay Marie Fowler, age 56, returned to her heavenly home on May 14, 2016 as a result of a ruptured aneurism. Her devotion to her family and their firm belief in God has been their support and source of peace during this very difficult time.
Laurel was the third daughter born to Victor and Maxine Badry, of Heisler, Alberta, on June 22, 1959. She was raised on the family farm and worked along-side her sisters mainly helping in the house and in the garden. Doing the dishes during seeding and harvest was Laurel's responsibility, and she was overjoyed when her parents bought their first dishwasher. When her parents decided to adopt two brothers in 1964 and 1967, Laurel helped with looking after them and enjoyed peering over the basinet at the fantastic new additions.
Throughout high school, Laurel often told her mom that all she ever wanted to be was a wife and mother. Once she met Don Robinson at Daysland High School her dreams were on their way to becoming true.
In October 1977 Laurel married Don and they moved to Camrose. Over the course of their marriage they had 3 beautiful children Mark, Colin and Krista. Wonderful memories were made attending church, camping, doing recreational activities and spending time with family. Laurel enjoyed being a wife and a mother; always making the family home a place of good food, much fun, smiles and laughter - all of it shared with plenty of love.
In November 1998 Laurel married Kirby Fowler, adopted his adorable son Hamilton and together they had their wonderful daughter Abby. Once again she became a stay-at-home mom and followed her calling.
In July 2015 Laurel married Jonathan Moores. Soon after, they bought a camper in pursuit of her continued passion for camping and spending time with family. Jonathan was already the proud owner of a boat and motorbike, and Laurel loved the adventures they had together.
Laurel's faith played a major role in her life and could be counted on to tuck anyone's requests into her prayer time. Her greatest passions were her relationship with the Lord, her family including her five children and eight grandchildren, spending time outdoors and especially working in her flower beds within the backyard. Laurel loved with her entire heart and touched the hearts of many.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Jonathan Moores of Camrose; children Mark (Alysha) Robinson of Mt. Vernon , Washington, Colin (Cheryl) Robinson of Camrose, Krista (Marcel) Gendreau of Camrose, Hamilton Fowler of Camrose, and Abby Fowler of Camrose; her mother Maxine Badry of Heisler; two brothers Lee (Lorraine) Badry of Camrose, and Shawn (Janice) Badry of Heisler; two sisters Leanne (Greg) Baumle of the Kelsey District and Shara-Lynn (Jerry) Weller of Daysland; and eight grandchildren.
Laurel was predeceased by her father Victor Badry. She will be missed and her memory cherished forever.
A Funeral Service was held on Friday May, 20 2016 at 1:00 pm from the Camrose Regional Exhibition Rev. Shannon Payne officiating. At Laurel's request, there was a dance following the time of fellowship and refreshments at the C.R.E.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the children's ministry of one's choice.
