Obituary of Henry Gingras
Please share a memory of Henry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mr. Henry Gingras of Camrose, formerly of Edmonton, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016 at the age of 66 years.
It was in Athabasca, Alberta on April 6, 1950, that was the beginning of the extraordinary life of Henry Gingras.
From his first real job working in a sawmill, to working with NTCL in Tuktoyaktuk and Great Bear River, some construction in Edmonton, to over thirty years with AGT/Telus in various positions, his working life was well established from the start. He felt as though in his time with Telus, he helped and trained a lot of people, and was proud of the accomplishments he achieved.
Being a farm boy, Henry loved gardening and was especially proud of his large tomatoes and his hot peppers. He was an all round handyman when it came to renovating, and anything else he put his mind to. He found great pleasure in reading, travel, family, and in spending his last thirty-two years with the love of his life, Christine. Henry tried to always live his life by these words: "Whatever you do in life, always do what is expected of you to the best of your ability, and then do a little more." Of course, those who know him the best would know that his other life's motto was: "As my Mom always told me, if you don't like it, put cream on it!"
Henry is survived by his loving wife, Christine; three children Shellie (Paul) Michael of Red Deer, Terry Gingras of Calgary, and Julie (Don) Randall of Red Deer; three grandchildren; and mother Margaret Gingras of Lac LaBiche, Alberta.
Henry was predeceased by his father Art, and siblings Marie Beddis, Louise Proctor, Georgette Emmons, Richard Gingras and infant Marcelle Gingras.
At Henry's request, there will be no service held.
Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta, T6G 1Z2.
