Obituary of Darrell Peterson

Darrell passed away at Tofield Continuing Care surrounded by the love of his family and content in the grace of God, on August 6, 2016 at 85 years of age.
Darrell was born to Alice Olson and Carl Peterson on February 24, 1931 in Regina, Saskatchewan where he grew up with his brother Gordon and sisters June and Shirley. Darrell moved to Flin Flon, Manitoba with his family and completed his electrician trade and began working for Walter Cole with Flin Flon Electric. On a weekend dance at nearby The Pas, Darrell met the love of his life Marjorie. They courted, were married, and spent the next 57 years together until Marjory's passing. Their son Greg (Connie) was born in Flin Flon, soon after they moved to Edmonton where Dad worked for the Industrial Power Installations as an electrician. A move to Camrose for a job with the Electrical Protection Branch a number of years later and there daughter Sandra (Wes Huseby) was born. Darrell was recognized for his 25 years of service and was very proud of his accomplishment. Darrell was an active member of Camrose Masonic Lodge #37, Al Shamal Shriner, and order of Eastern Star.
Mom and Dad enjoyed many activities and socials with their Masonic family. Dad loved summer vacations up North at Clearwater Lake, fishing, relaxing, and making memories, some of our most fond memories - Thank you Dad! Dad was a loving husband, father, and son and was blessed with seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is very proud of you all. May you rest in Peace - Give Mom a big hug.Love you forever
Darrell is survived by his two children; Greg (Connie) Peterson of Camrose and Sandra (Wes) Huseby of the Gladstone District, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Darrell was predeceased by his parents Carl and Alice, brother Gordon, and sisters June and Shirley.
A Celebration of Life service was held on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 1:00 pm from the Camrose Masonic Lodge, 5021 - 48 Street, with Rev. Bill Harder officiating. Inurnment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
