Obituary of Irene Froese
Please share a memory of Irene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Irene Stella Froese, born in Coleman in 1950, spent the majority of her life in the city of Calgary.
She is survived by sons Jason and Shawn; grandchildren Ethan and Kaity; and sisters Mary and Evelyn. Irene was predeceased by her brother Albert, and sisters Helen, and Anne.
A woman of strong heart and will, Irene chose to fulfill her dream of turning her Little Beaver Lake property close to Ferintosh into a home. After ten years of country living, she unfortunately lost out to a second lengthy battle with cancer at the age of 65. Irene was an extremely determined fighter who met death with grace and bravery, inspiring her friends and family in the light of the sad news that this illness had returned.
Outdoor life, animals, art, and music were some of Irene's passions. She embraced painting, and playing the ukulele in the final years of her life, experiencing much joy through the community classes and clubs she attended in Bashaw and Camrose.
Irene will be dearly missed and remembered by the many people she affected during her life. Her family will never forget her.
A Funeral Service was held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2016 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jacobson officiating. Interment has taken place in the Highland Park Cemetery.
If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the charity of one's choice.
