Obituary of Lyndon Winczura

Lyndon Alan Winczura's life was cut short at the young age of 32 years. He passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 11, 2016. He was born on March 22, 1984 in Camrose, Alberta and was a long-time resident of Burnaby, British Columbia, but had recently moved to Nanaimo, BC. Lyndon had a love for his children, socializing with family and friends, his mother's baking, watching movies, music and animals. He had an amazing spirit and strength about him and was an inspiration to us all. He received a double lung transplant at the age of 19 years old as a result of a rare condition of pulmonary arterial hypertension. He survived all the odds stacked against him, as well as battling many struggles that come with receiving an organ transplant. He was the poster child of the month at the hospital for his success and tremendous courage during his transplant. He was a loving and devoted father to his two beautiful children, Korrea and Logan. He is also survived by his mother, Corinne Keith (Gord), his father Rocky Winczura, four brothers, Shawn Leclercq (Jaclyn), Jamie Leclercq (Crystal), Brett Winczura (Jeff), Christian Bom, sister Loni Atkinson (Dane), nephew Jaiden Leclercq, two nieces, Dalliz Petersen Leclercq, Madison Leclercq, aunts, uncles, and other loving relatives and numerous friends. Lyndon was predeceased by his grandparents, Donna and Albert Winczura, Greta and Angus Keith, and his uncle and godfather, Evan Keith. Let us celebrate the love and joy that Lyndon brought to our lives in the short years that we were blessed have known him and to have been loved by him. We will continue to hold him close to our hearts with the fondest of memories and as his spirit lives on in his children. A Funeral Service was held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 3, 2016 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bill Harder officiating. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the charity of one's choice.
