Mrs. Kim Hanako Erickson of Camrose, Alberta, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the age of 88 years.
Kim was born to parents Tsunesaku and Miki Kimura on July 23, 1928 in Cumberland B.C.. Kim later moved to the Brooks area with her family. She graduated from the school for nursing aids in 1949 and worked until she married Floyd Erickson and moved to the Kingman area. In 1968 the family moved to Edmonton. In 1980 Kim and Floyd returned to the farm where they lived until 2015.
Kim enjoyed sewing and gardening and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her caring and generous nature, always willing to lend a hand.
She was kind to all she met, welcoming every visitor into her home for something to eat.
Kim is survived by her husband Floyd; two daughters, Marcy(Dave) Chippior of Edmonton and Lorraine (Dave) Friesen of Beaumont; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Kyle, Mark, Bryan, Alyson, and one great-grandchild Lyrik.
Kim was predeceased by one sister Yoshino and three brothers, Tsuneyoshi, Kiyoshi and Yoshito.
A funeral service was held on Friday, September 09, 2016 at 2:00 pm from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ron Chetney officiating. Interment has taken place in the Kingman Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Canadian Cancer Society.
