Obituary of Helen Blawuciak
Please share a memory of Helen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Helen Pauline Blawuciak of Camrose, formerly of Hay Lakes, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the age of 85 years.
Helen was born in Camrose on April 7, 1931 to parents William and Pearl Sych.
On July 28, 1951 she married John Blawuciak and lived on the family farm. Helen loved the farm where some days she had to be the mechanic or the vet. She loved all animals, especially cats and her dog Benji, and she loved watching the hummingbirds and canaries sing. One could say that Helen had the delicate grace of a hummingbird which she truly loved to watch. She enjoyed the companionship of good friends and family, and always enjoyed a good game of cribbage.
In October 2014 she moved to Camrose and lived there until her passing at Bethany Meadows on September 7, 2016.
Helen is survived by her special daughter Wendy Blawuciak of Camrose; brothers George (Maxine) Sych of Hay Lakes, and Ignace (Tillie) Sych of Hay Lakes; sister Evelyn (Orest) Eveneshen of Edmonton; brother-in-law John Poniewozik; sister-in-law Eleanor (Nick) Pacholuk; and a host of relatives, friends, and neighbours.
Helen was predeceased by her husband John, parents William and Pearl Sych, and sister Jean Poniewozik.
A Divine Liturgy was held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 12, 2016 from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Paul Lysak and Rev. Mark Sych officiating. Interment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery.
If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Bethany Meadows, or to the charity of one's choice.
