Obituary of Julius Repchinski
Please share a memory of Julius to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Julius Alexander Repchinski of Camrose passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the age of 81 years.
Julius was born and raised in Prud'homme, Saskatchewan on the family farm.
He later met a nice young lady and decided to ask me for a date to dance. In about a year, he proposed to me with a nice engagement ring (was not too expensive). The following year we decided to tie the knot with a small wedding on October 30, 1955 with a big snow storm when we came out of the church. Mom and Dad had to sign for me before I could marry him and become his loving wife.
We farmed for a year, then we bought a tiny house in Saskatoon and took up jobs. Julius worked for Keith Construction, but always wanted to be his own boss. So we quit our jobs and started looking for a hotel. The first one we purchased was in Killaly, Saskatchewan, and we did not look back. In the following years, we built many more and Julius even built all the furniture for one motel. He was a very hardworking man.
We retired to Red Deer, and then decided we wanted to retire to a smaller city, and moved to Camrose. We would have been going on 62 years of marriage on October 30, 2016. Of course married life is not all roses. There are thorns in there and you have to give and take, not only take.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Ruth, sister Regina Love, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Julius was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Delena, brother Sylvester "Sy", and sister Rosemarie Niedzielski.
A Mass of the Resurrection was held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Jacobson as celebrant. Inurnment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery.
If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church Building Fund.
