Richard "Dick" Benedict Ell of Camrose passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the age of 76 years.
Richard was born on August 29, 1940 in Unity, Saskatchewan to Joseph and Agatha Ell. He was the first child of nine and moved to Camrose at an early age. Right out of school, Richard started driving delivery trucks for Super Delivery, then a few years later started driving for Hi-Way 13 Transport, where he worked until his retirement. He spent most of his time outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping and attending hockey games in the winter. He was an avid country music fan. He loved spending time with family and friends.
Richard leaves to mourn his passing, his siblings Lorrie (Norman) Habekost of Edmonton, George of Camrose, Maryann (Marvin) Dehnke of Edmonton, Deanna (Cornel) Rusnack of Edmonton, Stanley (Donna) of Camrose, Joanne Ell of Edmonton, Margaret (Erwin) Schnitzer of Edmonton, Tony (Beverly) of Bonnyville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Agatha Ell, and sister-in-law Darlene.
A Liturgy of the Word was held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2016 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Deacon Doug Tien officiating. Interment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery.
If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta, or to the Alberta Diabetes Foundation.
