Mr. William Zeller of Camrose County, passed away on Thursday September 22, 2016 at the age of 76 years.
William was born in St. Mary's Hospital, Camrose, the only son of Sebastian and Rose Zeller.
He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters Mary and Sebastianna (better known as Anna), as well as two sisters Marilyn and Marian in infancy.
He leaves to mourn three sisters, Joan of Champion, Alberta, Ruth of Calgary, and Patricia of Camrose County, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The farm was very important to William. He valued the two years of education at Olds Agricultural College, where he ranked high in his classes. When he returned to the farm he implemented the knowledge he gained there. In addition to his farming responsibilities, he cared for his aging parents, as well as his sister Patricia in recent years.
He was particularly pleased to see several people in the community follow his initiation of the practice of leaving strips in the hay field in order to trap snow to protect the land and ensure spring moisture. The natural health of the land was more important to him, rather than the excessive use of chemicals to increase massive production. Working the land and caring for his animals was a major pleasure in life, yet he always had time to help others.
His faith, and value of people ensured that he always had time to visit, whether an old friend or new acquaintance. He always dealt honestly with people, regardless of their reciprocation. He was so thankful for his neighbor, Keith Klein and family, for their friendship and helpfulness. In recent years, his health prevented him from managing the entire farming operation, but he enjoyed his limited participation. May he rest in peace.
