Julia Ann Lamont of Bawlf, Alberta passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the age of 85 years after a courageous battle with cancer. Julia was born May 29, 1931 in Camrose. She was raised in the Round Hill District, and was the second oldest of ten children of Nich and Pauline Orcheski. Julia married the love of her life, Ronald Lamont, on November 25, 1950 and to this union nine children were born. In 1956 they moved their family to Surrey, BC where she worked at different jobs until hiring on at Saint Mary's Hospital where she worked for 27 years and retired in 1996. Julia and Ronald moved back to Alberta in August 2004 and bought a house in Bawlf where they enjoyed their retirement where it all stared, and where Julia resided until her passing. She enjoyed her bingo and playing cards, and most of all she loved her church and never missed a Sunday. Julia is survived by her children, Margaret (John) Westgeest of Daysland, Dennis (Donna) Lamont of Aldergrove, BC, Noreen (Marvin) Foss of Round Hill, Arnie Lamont of Bawlf, Audrey (Howie) Taylor of Calgary, Brian (Susan) Lamont of White Rock, BC, Cindy (Brad) Kolins of Abbotsford, BC, Dwayne (Kari) Lamont of Holden; brothers, Stanley (Linda) Orcheski of Camrose, Louis (Carol) Oracheski of Ohaton, Casmer Orcheski of Camrose, Phillip Orcheski of Edmonton, Joe (Georgina) Orcheski of Camrose; sisters Helen Smith of Edmonton and Mary-Jane Oracheski of Round Hill; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Ronald, son Dale, grandson Derek Foss, great-grandson Adam Krell, son-in-law Richard Chenier, grandson-in-law George Macken, sisters Mary and Rose, brother Frank, and her parents. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. A Prayer Vigil was held from Burgar Funeral Home at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, October 5, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 10:00 am from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Larry Pederson officiating. Interment has taken place at the St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Cemetery, Round Hill. Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Camrose Association for Community Living, the ALS Society of Alberta, or the Cross Cancer Institute.
