Obituary of John Schuster

Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
John Schuster was born at Heisler, Alberta on March 16, 1930 to John and Theresia Schuster and passed away on November 7, 2016 at the Daysland Hospital at the age of 86 years. Family and friends were very important to John. He was a quiet, gentle man who lived his whole life in the Heisler area, never feeling the need to travel or go to the big city. Everything he needed was close to home. He always had a positive attitude and although suffering from health problems in his later years, he never once complained. His deep religious faith and his desire to be of service to the Church were very important to him. He took his job of opening the Church and helping to prepare for Mass very seriously. He was a private, unassuming man who never expected anything in return. John leaves to mourn his passing, his sister Johanna Dietrich of Sylvan Lake; two nieces, Valerie (Denis) Basterash of Spruce Grove and their children, Meghan and Brandon; Angela (Ian) Pappin of Edmonton and their children, Matthew and Jessica; and one nephew, Darin (Karen) Schuster of Edmonton and their children, Melissa (Chris) Ross, Nicole and Thomas. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Theresia; two brothers, Carl and Frank; one sister, Sister Marlene; and brother-in-law, Ed Dietrich. A Prayer Vigil was held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 14, 2016 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel in Camrose. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. from St. Martin Roman Catholic Church in Heisler with Rev. Christian Nwaigwe as Celebrant. Interment has taken place in the St. Martin Roman Catholic Cemetery in Heisler. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the St. Martin Cemetery Fund, the Canadian Cancer Society, or to the charity of one's choice.
