Obituary of Robert Moulder
Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robert Eldridge Moulder of Camrose, formerly of Hardisty, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the age of 95 years.
Robert was born on September 15, 1921 to Walter and Elsa Moulder, on their farm north of Hardisty, Alberta. He had four brothers and one sister. He worked on the family farm until the age of 21, when he enlisted into the RCAF. At the end of the war, he met Doris Bell of Irma. They were married in Camrose, Alberta on November 17th, 1953. They lived in the Hardisty area, and farmed part of the land from the original homestead of his parents. There they raised five children. In 1994, Robert retired from farming, and they relocated to Camrose, Alberta.
Robert was a very kind and patient man. He worked hard on his own farm and was there to support his brothers that were farming on adjacent land, as well as any neighbours who were in need. He was the rock in the family, and always made sure all family members were well taken care of. The word NO was not in his vocabulary when it came to his family's needs. He was a man of few words, however when he spoke, the words were kind and full of wisdom. He loved to travel with his family. Every year there was a trip planned to favourite places in the Rockies or Vancouver Island. A day visit to Stanley Park in Vancouver was also a highlight. Robert enjoyed reading, especially history and how Canada evolved. He also enjoyed listening to gospel music.
Left to remember this kind man is Doris, his wife of 62 years, his son Eugene and his wife Ursula and family of St. Albert, Alberta, his daughters; daughters Debra and her husband Gerry and family, of Campbell River, B.C.; Patricia and her husband Bernie and family, of Sherwood Park, Alberta; Gail of Camrose, Alberta; Denise and her husband Eric and family, of Sherwood Park, Alberta. He leaves ten grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn many other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Walter, Basil, Archie, Warren and Ivy.
A Funeral Service was held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday November 23, 2016 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brian Hunter officiating.
If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the charity of one's choice.
