Obituary of Olga Banack
Please share a memory of Olga to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Olga Banack was born July 4, 1924 to Peter and Maria Zeniuk on the family farm in the Round Hill district and attended Kalawy school. She thoroughly enjoyed the companionship of her sister, Anne Kushnerick-Homeniuk and her brothers Martin, Joseph, William and John.
In 1945, she married Edward Banack and they raised three children:daughter Maxine (George) Sych of Hay Lakes, son John Banack of Calgary, son Larry (Linda) Banack of Airdrie. Her jewels were her grandchildren: Cory (Deb) Banack, Jana (Jeff) Weitz, Ryan Sych, Clark (Kendall) Banack, Candace Banack; and great-grandchildren Joshua and Matthew Banack, Kaitlyn and Rebecca Weitz and Brynn Banack, Brother William and Doris Zenuik of Victoria, sister in-law Theresa Zeniuk, and her Banack Clan of Annie, Vivian, Della, Adam and Joe encompass her surviving loved ones.
Edwards sudden passing in 1979 broke her heart. Her daughter in-law Lana's death in 2013 severed another link in the family chain.
Olga lived all her life in Round Hill and enjoyed crocheting, babysitting and assembling food care packages and warm quilts for her kids. Play ball and He Shoots! He Scores! were continually in her life- from her boys to her grandchildren.
Faith was very important to Olga, attending St. Stanislaus Parish, laundering church linens and mowing grass around the church and cemetery.
In 2003, Olga moved to Heritage Manor in Camrose and thoroughly enjoyed this new life. In 2015, after many health issues, Faith House became her new, wonderful home.
Her family would like to thank Theresa and the late John Zeniuk for always being there, Dr. Hilderman - the Miracle Man for so many years, the amazing, dedicated compassionate caregivers at Faith House and Brad, Kathy, Gina and Sarah Goetz for loving and caring about Grandma Olga all these years.
Rest in Peace Ollie.
