Mr. Jimmy Edward Kjosness of Camrose, formerly of Sherwood Park, Alberta and Bowser, British Columbia, passed away on Monday November 21, 2016 at the age of 80 years.
Jimmy Kjosness was born June 15,1936 on the family farm east of Holden, Alberta to Palmer and Alvina Kjosness. He was the second of three boys, following his older brother, Clare and followed by Ken sixteen years later. Jimmy attended Longridge School, north of Holden in his early years followed by Ritchie School in Edmonton. At age 15, he received his Welding Certificate launching a hard working career of 50 years.
Jimmy married Millie Clark on August 24, 1957 and together they had three children, Carol, Kelly and Larry. Jimmy was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, friend and colleague. He enjoyed socializing with friends and family, playing and walking with his dogs and repairing anything he could get his hands on. Jimmy was an avid collector who had a passion to make the old new again. He could be found having coffee and donuts with his brothers and uncles on Saturday mornings at their favourite coffee shop. If unable to attend, he was sure to follow up with one of his daily phone calls to his brothers. Later on a Saturday afternoon he could be found garage sailing with Millie or the grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman who always had time for a story and enjoyed travelling with Millie to new and exciting places.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Millie; daughter Carol (Bob) Wickstrom and their children, Brett (Lisa) Harke, Joel Harke, Shara Harke (David Arial), Kjell Wickstrom, Randi Wickstrom; daughter Kelly (Rob) Cottrell; son Larry; two great-grandchildren, Taryn and Bree Harke; brother Clare (Lenore), and brother Ken (Mariann). He was predeceased by his parents Palmer and Alvina, and his nephew Robin Kjosness. He also leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
