Obituary of Deborah McFarlane

Please share a memory of Deborah to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that the family of Deborah (Deb) Lorraine McFarlane announce her passing on January 14, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Deb was born in Delisle, Saskatchewan on February 17, 1965 to Darlene McFarlane (Hardy) and Ron McFarlane. The family moved to Edmonton when Deb was a young girl. When she was only seventeen she met her soul mate, David Doucette. They remained at each other side for over 34 years. She and Dave had one son, Adam of whom they are both incredibly proud. Deb had a deep love for her family and as soon as Dave brought her home, she immediately became an irreplaceable part of the Doucette family. She was full of life and had such an infectious laugh! Of course, no one will forget her beautiful dimples that were fortunately passed along to her son, Adam. Deb was always very active, loved running and working hard. She loved spending time outdoors and had a deep affection for animals. Hopefully her beloved pet Screech was there waiting for her when she left us. She also loved to travel always making sure there was a Tim Horton's on the way, stopping always for a steeped tea. One of the things she and Dave would have loved to do was to take a trip by train to the West Coast. Sadly, they were never able to do that as the disease took her sooner than everyone thought it would. There are no words to express how much Deb will be missed. Left to mourn her passing are her husband Dave Doucette of Tofield, son Adam Doucette of Fort McMurray, mother Darlene of Edmonton, sister Sherry (Doug) Bikow of Edmonton, and many other beloved friends and family. She was predeceased by her father Ronald. Funeral service at the family residence 4836 54 Avenue Tofield, Alberta at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 19, 2017. If friends and family so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to STARS Air Ambulance.
