Obituary of Kenneth Kerr
Please share a memory of Kenneth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kenneth Roger Kerr of Lamont, formerly of Bawlf, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the age of 36 years.
Kenny was born, in what would become a family tradition, to an expecting father away at NAIT rushing to the hospital to be present and an expecting mother caught off guard to the momentum of his arrival. This seemed to be a theme for Ken's life. Kenny made a statement wherever he was and often was making a strong impression on whoever he was around. As soon as he was mobile he would follow his older brother Wes, wherever he went. This, as time would tell, would never change. From his beginnings on chasing BMX bikes with his tricycle to the Boilermakers Union hall, Ken was more often than not carving his own path right beside his brother Wes. Ken also had a younger brother Mike, who he would try to mentor in the way of his older brother, which involved a lot of fighting with each other, especially on long road trips from Grimshaw to Bawlf to visit Grandma Olsen. These learning sessions would often last several hours each way, and were quite unorthodox according to Mom and Dad.
Ken would continue to educate us his entire life, as he had a strong belief in how things should be done and would give out a "Bark" if he didn't think someone was giving him their best. His standard was that he would work hard to gain respect and he expected the same in return. As seriously as he took work, he also took "play" with the same enthusiasm. He would more often than not be the life of any party or tell a story or spin on something that he would find amusing. It was hard not to be smiling after a conversation with Ken at work or away from work, or even just thinking of him on any given day.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents Daryle and Kathy; brother Wesley (Colleen) of Camrose County and their daughter Chantal; and brother Mike (Krystal) of Lamont and their children Wyatt and Levi.
Kenneth was predeceased by his grandparents Kenneth and Louise Kerr and Martin and Ragnhild "Rae" Olsen; nephews Nolan and Bryce; Aunt Sylvia Canning; and uncle Stanley Olsen.
A time of Public Visitation was held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 2, 2017 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel.
A Funeral Service was held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, March 3, 2017 from Bawlf Lutheran Church with Rev. Jacques Vaillancourt officiating. Inurnment has taken place in the Bawlf Lutheran Cemetery.
