Obituary of Jennifer Vowles

Please share a memory of Jennifer to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jennifer May Vowles, the second oldest daughter of Jeanne Severson and Lester Keohane, was born on May 2, 1964 in Camrose, Alberta. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many, she passed away at the age of 52 years at St. Mary's Hospital on March 6, 2017. Beginning life in a two-room house in Round Hill, Alberta, Jennifer joined older brother Bob to await the arrival of brothers Michael and later Danny. Her exploits in high school focused much more on having a lot of fun rather than grades. However when she wanted to, she buckled down in university and maintained Honours standing throughout every term of her academic career, graduating with a Bachelor of Science with Distinction in 1992. In between high school and university, Jennifer found the time, to find the "Love of Her Life" in Zane Vowles, and they were married July 17, 1982. Alex was born September 29, 1983 and Amber joined the family on August 9, 1987. By that time they had left their first home in Camrose to take up residence on their first farm at Driedmeat Lake. After 13 years, they moved to a second farm for 5 years before finally leaving the Driedmeat Lake area for their current acreage by New Norway. Life got even more busy and interesting as their grandkids burst on the scene. Her work life eventually led Jennifer to Hanson & Sons to focus on bookkeeping and payroll until a friend sought her out for a programming position at Augustana that developed into a distinguished professional career of 14 years, before health issues took her out of the work place. Outside of work, Jennifer discovered a multi-tasking preoccupation with continuously creating crafts while being captivated by crime shows. She also thoroughly enjoyed camping most weekends of every summer possible and further developed a very enjoyable sequence of annual trips and events, culminating in many extensive ways to celebrate Christmas. Left to cherish her memory are husband Zane of Camrose; son Alex (Jennifer) of Camrose; daughter Amber of Camrose; three grandchildren Macayla, Mason, Madison; brothers Bob (Kerrie) Keohane of Round Hill, Michael (Maralee) Keohane of Olds and Daniel (Rebecca) Keohane of Bawlf. Jennifer was predeceased by her parents Jeanne Severson and Lester Keohane. A Funeral Service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017 from CityLights Church in Camrose, Alberta, with Dale Swanson officiating. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Stollery Children's Hospital.
