Carol was born in Wainwright, Alberta on August 10, 1939 and lived in Kinsella until 1948 when her mother Frances remarried and moved to Edmonton. They lived in the Highlands area and Carol attended Eastglen School. Carol worked part-time jobs including roller skate waitress at A&W drive-in and receptionist in a medical clinic where she met Fred in 1958. They were married in 1960 and moved to Victoria where they lived for five years. Returning to the Highlands area of Edmonton, they adopted Michael in 1965 and Karen in 1967; Christine was born in 1976.
As well as raising her children, Carol's passions included curling, reading, gardening, crafting, and photography. Carol had a lifelong love of animals, nature, and the outdoors.
In 1993, Fred retired, and they moved to living full time at Garner Lake. Carol loved her time spent there, and welcomed many visits from family and friends. In 2005, Carol and Fred moved to Camrose, where Carol became active in social activities such as floor curling, canasta, and coffee parties with the neighbours.

Carol was predeceased by her parents Clarence and Frances Gould.
She touched many people with her energy and vitality, and her zest for life. Carol loved a good party, and often brought people together for celebrations great and small.
