Anna Pauline Rau of Daysland, Alberta, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at the age of 97 years.
Anna Pauline Rau (Schonheiter) was born in Primate, Saskatchewan, on March 22, 1919. On October 28, 1941, she was united in marriage to Joseph George Rau. Together they farmed in Saskatchewan until 1962, when the moved to Daysland and continued to farm until they retired and moved into town. Anna belonged to the local Senior Centre where she enjoyed floor curling. She was also an active member of the C.W.L. for 75 years. When Joe passed away in 1990, Anna sold their home and lived in Westside Manor for 13 years. In September of 2013, she moved to Providence Place where she resided until her passing.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Carolyn (Roy) Eshpeter, Art (Lynn), Len (Deb), Joe (Adele), John (Denise), Geraldine (Doug) Lang, Holly (Duane) Wolbeck; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son James; daughter Katherine Sapsford; and her husband Joseph.
She lived a full and healthy life and will be sadly missed by family and friends.
A Funeral Service with mass was held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from Our Lady of the Prairies Roman Catholic Church in Daysland, Alberta with Rev. Christian Nwaigwe officiating. Interment has taken place in the Daysland Cemetery.
