Bryan Ross Braim was born February 4, 1926 in Camrose, Alberta to Douglas and Marion Braim and passed away April 21, 2017 at Bethany Meadows at the age of 91. Bryan grew up on the family farm in the New Norway District and attended the Silver Creek School. At the age of 19, he bought his first quarter of land where he developed the homestead into a diversified farming operation over the next 40 plus years. In 1952, he married Jean Jones and to this union was born 6 children. Dorothy, Ken, Stanley, Murray, Ruth and Joyce. Bryan began to retire from farming as the sons stepped in to take over. In 1991 Bryan and Jean moved to Camrose where they enjoyed a simpler lifestyle while Bryan still helped out at the farm regularly as needed. His family was his pride and farming was his passion. His smile, laughter, sense of humour and strong example of faith will be greatly missed. Bryan leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Jean of 64 years, daughters Dorothy (Brian) Johanson of Red Deer, Ruth (Darrell) Knapp of Laglace, sons Ken (Norma) Braim of Nampa, Stan (Cindy) Braim of Fairview, and Murray Braim of Camrose. 19 grandchildren, their spouses and 35 great grandchildren. His brother Keith Braim and sister Wilma (Leo) Bjornson, sisters-in-law Betty Hansen and Freida Jones and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Douglas and Marion Braim, daughter Joyce Knudsen (Braim) and grandson Matthew Braim. A Funeral Service was held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 29, 2017 from the CityLights Church with the Braim family officiating. Interment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to Battle River Community Foundation - Matthew Braim Fund (Box 1122 Camrose, Alberta T4V 4E7), or to the charity of one's choice.
