Mrs. Shirley Ann Barker from Camrose, formerly of Viking, Alberta, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the age of 72 years.
Shirley was born on July 18, 1944 to Steven and Mary Nelson. She grew up in the Holden and Viking areas.
On November 2, 1962, she married the love of her life, Ken Barker. They moved around a bit and then settled in Carmrose in 1972 where they raised their family and made many friends.
Shirley will be missed by her husband Ken; daughter Bonnie (Leonard Andrews); son John; four grandchildren, Dallas, Annette (Michael Baden), Ryan and Jordan; one great-grandson Zachary; her brother Clair Nelson; and numerous family members and friends.
Shirley was predeceased by her parents Steven and Mary Nelson; her stillborn daughter Georgina Ann Barker; and her sister Alvina Logan.
A Graveside Service was held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Bruce Cemetery, Bruce, Alberta.
Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
A Memorial Tree was planted for Shirley
