Obituary of Joyce Meadahl

Joyce Viola Evelyn Meadahl of Camrose, Alberta, passed away on May 7, 2017, at the age of 86 years. Joyce Viola Evelyn Meadahl (nee Farness) was born June 8, 1930 on the Farness family farm in the Round Hill district. Joyce met Dennis Meadahl at a dance in Ohaton in 1950 and was married in Camrose on November 7, 1952. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Dennis; children Keith (Connie), Karen Simonson, Cheryl (Larry) Young, Randy (Tamika), Wayne (Beverly), fifteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; her brother Melvin and family; as well as many friends. Joyce was predeceased by her parents Alvin and Ethel Farness; and brothers Lester and Harold. Her life revolved around family and friends. She cherished spending precious moments with grandchildren and great grandchildren by attending as many birthdays, school functions sporting events or 4H events as she could. She continued to be involved with and enjoy her many friends at ELW, SWEA Ladies, Bawlf Floor Curling Club and Skudesness Friendship Club. Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Friend you will be missed. A Funeral Service was held at 11:00 am, on Friday, May 12, 2017 from Messiah Lutheran Church in Camrose, Alberta with Rev. Calvin Skriver officiating. Interment has taken place in the Parkland Cemetery. If family and friends so desire memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Hospice Society of Camrose and District, the Skudesness Lutheran Church or to the Parkland Cemetery.
