Obituary of Gloria Wimmer

Gloria touched the lives of many with her wit, her tireless passion for this community and her love for her family and friends. After a lengthy illness, she passed away at St. Mary's Hospital on May 6, 2017. Gloria was predeceased by her parents Mary and Fred Hilkewich and her husband Herman Wimmer. Gloria is lovingly remembered by her children Sharon (Merv) Marshall; and David (Fiona) Wimmer; her grandchildren Robin (Ashley) Marshall and Nicole Marshall, Owen and Thomas Wimmer; and three great-grandchildren Parker, Ryan and Hunter Marshall. She is also survived by her sisters Shirley (Bob) Yamkowy and Linda Ladouceur (Gerry Skowronski) and her brothers George (Gail) Hilkewich and Garry Hilkewich. Sharing in their grief are her many nieces and nephews and countless friends in the community. The family wish to express their appreciation and gratitude to the staff of St. Mary's Hospital for their patience, care and compassion. With special thanks to Mary Ann Pastuck, Minister of Pastoral Care with the Camrose United Church for journeying with Gloria in her final hours. A Funeral Service was held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from the Camrose United Church with Rev. Liz Carter-Morgan and Rev. MaryAnn Pastuck officiating. Inurnment has taken place in the Valleyview Cemetery in Camrose. The family requests that donations be directed to either the St. Mary's Hospital Foundation, 4607 53 Street Camrose Ab.
