Obituary of David Heinz

David Stephen Heinz of Hay Lakes, Alberta, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at the age of 68 years. He was born to Arthur and Helen Heinz on June 1, 1948 in Edmonton, Alberta. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his sisters Valerie Trachsel of Brooks, Alberta, Carole (Patrick) Nolan of Tofield; brother Bryan (Kerry) Heinz of Calgary; nieces and nephews Sarah (Greg) Greenleese, Michael Nolan (Cassie), Daniel (Morgan) Nolan, Joel Heinz and Jonathan Heinz. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Helen Heinz. David graduated from the University of Alberta with a bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He practiced as a Professional Engineer for a number of years. In his later years, he enjoyed farming on the family farm until ill health limited his activities. The family wishes to thank Dr. Windram, Dr. Kantoch, Dr. Lien and the staff at the Mazankowski Heart Institute for the excellent and dedicated care given to David for many years. A Funeral Service was held at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, May 25, 2017, from Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Hay Lakes, Alberta, with Rev. Donald Bolstad officiating. Inurnment has taken place at the Hay Lakes Cemetery. If family and friends so desire memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Our Saviour Lutheran Church, or to the charity of one's choice.
