Obituary of Joyce Biem (Simonson)

Joyce was born in Ferintosh, Alberta to Olie and Margret Simonson. She was given her Angel Wings on June 10, 2017 at Bashaw Meadows at the age of 80 years. Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her children Vince Butler (Fern Wills) of Cardston, Ivan (Stephanie) Butler of Red Deer, Gloria Forsberg of Ferintosh, Ramona Butler of Camrose, Diana Chesney of Bowden, Andy Butler of Red Deer, Crystal Butler (Kevin Olds) of Ferintosh, and Eugene (Mari Lou) Butler of Red Deer; brother Ross Simonson of Ponoka; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and one great great-granddaughter. Joyce was predeceased by her son Michael Butler; parents Olie and Margret Simonson; nine brothers and sisters; granddaughter Sarah-Jane Marie; grandson Casey Jean; and great-grandson Alejandro. Joyce worked as a caregiver at the Innisfail Lodge for many years. Her strong morals have taught her children and all who came through the door, which was always open, love faith hope and charity. She also enjoyed her time with a gathering of the clan. A Graveside Service was held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 20, 2017, from the Innisfail Cemetery. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Stollery Children's Hospital.
