Obituary of David James "Jim" Francoeur
Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jim Francoeur, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on June 16, 2017 in Camrose at Sunrise Village, at the age of 70 years.
Jim was born on August 3, 1946 to parents Paddy and Irene Francoeur. Jim had married and has two children, Tracey and Shawn. He worked at Alberta Machinery for years and various other jobs before he started his own business, which was called "Jim's Water Well Service". Jim enjoyed his time at his cabin at Dried Meat Lake and ice fishing with his buddies until his M.S. made it too hard to continue. One Saturday morning Jim took his little scooter for a ride to an auction in the country (Round Hill) only to run out of power half way back. Brother Brian to the rescue at 2p.m. that afternoon, boy those scooters are heavy. Jim was an active member of the Elks for 45 years just like many other members of his family.
A special thank you to the girls at Sunrise (Jim's Angels) and all of the people that cared for him as his scooter would get stuck in the snow, mud, etc., and he needed a little push.
Jim leaves to mourn his passing his daughter Tracey (Rob) Ash of Red Deer; son Shawn (Lori) of Red Deer; six grandchildren Jayme, Jordan, Jennifer, Stephanie, James and Courtney; two great-grandchildren Finley and Caleb; three brothers Ray (Darlene), Greg, Brian (Jean); and sister Louise (Dan); and nine nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his parents Paddy and Irene Francoeur; and his younger brother Jeffery.
A Funeral Service with Mass was held at 10:30 a.m.,Friday, June 23, 2017 from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Jacobson as celebrant. Inurnment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery.
If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the MS Society of Canada - Alberta Division.
